The aroma of love filled the Immaculate Conception Cathedral at Mulivai on Saturday when lovebirds, Maria Alosia Matilda Leota and Andrew Chan exchanged vows in front of God, families and friends.

Father Falaniko blessed the couple and gave them advice to guide them in their new journey.

They were told to walk in love and that marriage is considered by many as the culmination of a successful life.

“You have found the one you love,” he said.

"Being a family means that you will love and be loved for the rest of your lives.

"It is a time when you should be there in happy ways of love, while trusting in the grace of God to lead you in love.”

Both the groom and the bride reside in New Zealand.

Maria is the second child of Togisala Francis Viliamu and Maria Kalameli Leota’s four children.

She has roots in Solosolo and Leauva’a.

Andrew is the fourth child of Muliagatele Tololi and Agnes Chan’s seven children.

He hails from the villages of Tufuiopa and Faleula.

The reception was held at Orator Hotel, Si’usega.
