Meet Nico and Gabi Mana from Argentina and New Zealand.

Dear Tourist caught them in Apia exploring the city before heading to the big island today.

Mr. and Mrs. Mana are originally from Argentina, however, they have moved to New Zealand for work purposes.

They have been in the country since last week Tuesday and they will be returning home this Saturday.

“We are originally from Argentina but we move to Auckland not long ago and we had many friends who came here and that’s how we heard of Samoa,” Mrs. Mana told Dear Tourist.

“Well no, my husband heard of Samoa because of the rugby team.”

“Samoa and Argentina are well known because of rugby and everyone knows where it is and every time we play against Samoa it is always a good game to watch.”

“But, seriously as a woman from Argentina I have never heard of Samoa except for the soccer team since we move to Auckland and that is how I came to know of Samoa as a touristic place.”

“This is our first time in Samoa we arrived here last week Tuesday and we are only here for ten days so we will be returning back to New Zealand this coming Saturday.”

Mr. Mana said since their arrival they had been exploring Samoa.

“We’ve been staying in so many places which is what we wanted because we are exploring and then tomorrow we will be going across Savaii for two days, then we come back and spend one last night here in Apia and then we will be flying back to Auckland on Saturday morning.”

“For the past week we’ve experienced that taro is the best food however you choose to eat it.”

“Like fried as chips or with coconut cream as well as its leaves where you make palusami out of it, or the actual taro it’s just amazing.”

“The food is really good and the people are very nice and helpful and very welcoming.”

“We see that everyone works as a community and we know that not everyone is related but they still help each other out and many people helped us as well in the bus or when we need a taxi or go somewhere and we don’t get that back home unless you are related but here it doesn’t matter if you are related or not they still help you.”

“The weather is amazing as well and we love it.”

Mr. Mana said before they came to Samoa they were looking at places where they could relax and at the same time learn from the culture and all that and Samoa was that place.

“Before we came on this trip we wanted to go to a place where the weather is hot and that we can relax and enjoy it so basically we wanted to go to a place where we can get a tan from,” he said.

“We wanted to come here because we wanted to enjoy the beaches, the landscape and the scenery so Samoa was that perfect place.”

“It was more to stay in the fale because we had couple of friends who came here about three months ago and they told us that the fales were the best place to stay.”

“So we wanted to experience that and more we wanted to experience some sort of wild life and so what better place than Samoa and because we had so many friends who recommend it to us.”

“It’s different from what we have in Argentina and New Zealand as well.”
