Island Rock Company Ltd. celebrated the opening of its new business location at Tufuiopa yesterday.

Customers and the company’s much-valued business clients marveled at the more than $2million facility.

The opening was a proud moment for the Wallwork family who have developed the business from scratch.

General Manager, Tuaopepe Jerry Wallwork, was a grateful man.

“Our family business was first started in 2000,” he said.

“We started small and through hard work, we’ve been able to build up the company to what it is today.”

The new location makes it easier for customers to browse and check out the stock available in store.

“We first started as a video company at Tamaligi back in the days,” Tuaopepe recalled. “Then we moved to electronics service at Tufuiopa at where we were before here. From that we’re continuing on, adding a number of products until today.”

An excited Tuaopepe said he believes this is only a step in their journey.

“Our family is always looking at ways to expand the business in the near future but it will all depend on God’s time,” he said.

He added that the new location and the new building is a step in the right direction, offering a chance to improve their services to Samoa.

“I believe this is a new beginning for many of our customers, partners who have enabled us and to achieve many goals.

“We are now ready for business and to offer the best services in Samoa. We want to thank all the people of Samoa for their support over the years.”

Construction on the company’s new building started in February this year.
