A Canadian man accused of possession of ‘ice’ appeared before Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asu’e Falefatu Sapolu yesterday.

William Ernest Rockliffe, 50, is accused of possession of narcotics and possession of utensils.

He was represented by lawyer, Lefau Harry Schuster.

Chief Justice Patu adjourned the matter to 1 October 2018 as requested by prosecution Leone Su’a-Mailo so they can finalise the charges.

Mr. Rockliffe is released on bail and has been ordered to surrender all travel documents.

Earlier this month, Customs and police allegedly discovered the drug methamphetamine, better known as “ice” on a yacht, which is now docked at the Marina Bay.

The discovery was made during a joint operation involving more than 20 officials from various government agencies.

The vessel has been cordoned off at the wharf with the police restricting access by putting up barricade tapes. It is also alleged the yacht belongs to Mr. Rockliffe.
