Twenty customers who shopped at Samoa Stationery and Books (S.S.A.B.) during their Meka Back to School promotion are winners.

Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone which is the newest brand of Samsung smartphones in the market, H.P. laptops, stereos, bluetooth speakers, nextbook were among a number of products given away by S.S.A.B. These items valued at more than $20,000.

According to S.S.A.B. Marketing Manager, Asomua Asia Stanley, the promotion was launched on January 5, 2018.

“We had our S.S.A.B. Meka Back to School promotion for about six weeks and today we are giving away the prizes,” Asomua said.

“The draw was conducted last week Friday and the presentation of prizes was supposed to be on Saturday but because of Tropical Cyclone Gita, we had to move the presentation to today (yesterday).”

“There are five different promotions that the prize giving will be based on. We’ll have the Warwick, Acco, Pelikan and Colorhide, Staedtler and the Samsung New Zealand.”

Asomua said the promotion was the company’s way of rewarding devotion and recognising their customer’s support.

In the past years, president and owner of S.S.A.B, Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai, says the back to school promotion is all about making it easier for families to start the school year.

“If our children are well educated, then Samoa as a nation will become more secure and prosperous.”

“Before I had established S.S.A.B. eight years ago, buying stationery for my children was an expensive exercise and so I know the financial struggles that us parents go through in putting our kids through school.”

“Therefore my aim is to reduce the prices of back to school products to lessen the load of parents.”

“So when I established S.S.A.B, I endeavored to provide the children of Samoa with good quality and affordable stationery so that they would have all the necessary tools when they go to school.”

Asomua said S.S.A.B. was Samoa’s one stop shop for all stationery needs.

“The first promotion is the partnership between S.S.A.B. and Croxley New Zealand and they bring the Warwick back to school promotion for this year.”

“The second promotion is a joint back to school promotion between S.S.A.B. and its suppliers A.C.C.O, Pelikan and Colorhide.

“The third promotion is our joint promotion between S.S.A.B. and Staedtler and the last one is the promotion between us and Samsung New Zealand.”

“We want our customers to feel that they are being looked after and taken care of.”

“We have done this by slashing the prices with up to 50 percent off some of the selected Croxley products and some of the other products had 20 percent discounted.”

“So not only are we giving the customers specials in terms of the prices, but we actually offered them the draws as a way to wrap up the promotion and thank our customers.”

Asomua also acknowledged the support from their overseas partners.

“I want to thank not only the Samoan customers, the parents and the children, but also the overseas companies that have partnered up with S.S.A.B to make these promotions successful,” he said.

They include Croxley, Staedtler, Pelikan Samsung New Zealand, Colorhide and Acco.

“Without our overseas suppliers, it would not be possible to offer affordable prizes in terms of stationery and all our education resources.”

“And every year it gets better and better. So we want to pass on the benefits to our people and I wish all the children of Samoa the best for the 2018 academic year.”
