Listen to the people

Dear Editor

Re: The issue of customary lands

I think you see things as many others are starting to see them.

Also according to some people there have been cases where attempts have been made they just are not publicized.

It’s good that the public is awakening to their lands being at risk.

Even if we give the P.M. the benefit of the doubt and say he didn’t see what others are concluding about the risks to customary lands because of the LTRE 2008 legislation, he should be listening to his people’s cries on this issue and change direction.

It is the only right thing to do. Samoans at home and abroad spoke loudly today.

They want to keep their customary lands. They are not for sale or lease to foreign elites and the 1 percent.
