A teenage girl from New Zealand discovered the body of a dead man hanging from a fence at Taufusi.

The gruesome discovery was made behind the Samoa Commercial Bank and the Market’s main office.

According to an employee at the Flea Market, who wished to stay anonymous, the unidentified man may have died in the evening, as the body was found around 8pm.

She said her niece from overseas went to get half of a coconut that fell over the back of the office, and she saw the body.

She returned and told her Aunty that there was a ghost at the back of the Bank and she went to see who was there.

Upon seeing the body, she called out to the man but he did not respond.

On closer inspection, she discovered he was dead.

“He hardly comes here, that was the third day I’d seen him there,” the eyewitness said, speaking of the dead man.

“After buying credit for his phone, he went at the back of our office.”

She said they contacted Police that same night and they took his body to the hospital.

The media officer for the Ministry of Police, Maotaoalii Kaioneta Kitiona, said police are still investigating the matter.
