Women’s Committee has new President
The ‘Tautua Puapuaga o Tagata’ Society of the E.F.K.S. National Council of Women has a new president. She is Merita Siolo Tauati.
She was appointed during the Women’s Conference last week. Speaking to the Samoa Observer, Mrs. Tauati said she is honoured.
“This position is voted upon annually and having the opportunity to fulfill this role is an honour,” she said. “The society is all about giving back to the community when church members need help and that is something I am really looking forward to doing.
“Each year during this time, we donate to hospitals both in Savai’i and Upolu, and also to the Dialysis Unit within the National Health Service and other organisations.
“We also support some of the Women’s Committees when they’re in need of water tanks or any other materials to develop their ministries.”
Mrs. Tauati said the main focus of ‘T.P.T.’ is to serve the community and the church.
“We earned over $400,000 at the beginning of the week from the women’s committees offerings and that’s the money we will use for our projects.”
