A question for Ministers in Samoa

Dear Editor,

In light of the Panama Papers, another very serious question that I have noticed from various media outlets to their leaders and minister is a very direct one. “Do you have any offshore accounts”?

You should ask the same question in Samoa.

Today we see a high profile Minister in Spain has now resigned, all the while claiming innocence.

It will be interesting to see what effect this scandal has on the future of the PM of Britain, “Dodgy Dave”. Tax Havens, legal or not, are unethical and should not be used by countries leaders to avoid taxes or for any other reason.

The use by leaders, whether legal or not, is a conflict of interest. If leaders cant be trusted to conduct themselves ethically, legal or not, especially when it comes to money, they should resign as they are not fit for the offices they hold.
