Auckland Marist and Apia Maroons in Cup final

The last two teams’ standings for the 30th Marist Vailima Pure International Sevens tournament have been confirmed.

After an entertaining Round of Semi-final clashes of the Marist Vailima Pure International Cup, Auckland Marist and Apia Maroon will go head to head for the Cup final round.

B.B.E.Ulalei Vaiala side went down to Auckland Marist side during the first Semi-final clash of the day. Auckland Marist proved that they are here looking to defend their title for the third time now defeating Vaiala 17-10.

Apia overcame Vailele in a thrilling semi-final clash that went down to an Extra time. Both team played their hearts out until Apia winger crosses over for the winning try within the dying minutes of the first five minutes spell of the extra time.

Games coming up shortly will have Moata’a playing Marist Barbarians for the Spoon first prize while Vaimoso and Salelologa for the Bowl final.

The plate final of the tournament will see Tui Samoa from Aana going up against Tepatasi from Aleipata with Vailele and B.B.E. Ulalei Vaiala for the third and fourth spot clash of the tournament.

The Cup final will be at 6:00pm which will see Defending Champions from last year Marist Auckland taking on Apia Maroon team.
