Pauli Prince Suhren has got huge responsibilities on his shoulders.

As the Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa National Provident Fund (S.N.P.F.), he is shouldering the interest and wellbeing of 33,000 plus members.

But it is a role he’s confident about handling not because of his ability but as a man of faith, he knows he can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens him.

In his tenth month in office, the 32-year-old believes his appointment is a “super natural appointment from God.”

His primary target is serving the public and protecting the interests of the Fund members.

“I have an open door policy to all the fund members and staff,” said the S.N.P.F. boss. “It’s about giving our Fund members a sense of ownership in our organisation and to reiterate to them that we are their employees.

“That’s been my career motto because providing quality services to our stakeholders speaks volumes.”

“My primary objective is to maximize returns that will benefit the Fund and minimize the risks to those returns. Under no circumstance, will I compromise the interest of the Fund members which is why securing profitable new investment portfolio is one of my priorities.

“My administration is about people.”

A devout Christian, the writing was on the wall some 18 years ago for the young Prince.

Attending Pesega Primary School at that time, Pauli made his grand entrance as the 1997 Dux for the Primary School’s Graduating Class. It was the beginning of his educational journey of achievements.

At St. Joseph’s College, the young Prince was in a class of his own making his mark from Form 3 to Form 5 repeated taking the top honors as the first in his respective classes.

He graduated from St. Joseph’s with flying colours achieving first place in its University Entrance exams, Pacific Senior School Certificate (P.S.S.C.).

At the National University at Papaigalagala, Pauli was awarded a NZAID scholarship for Undergraduate Studies in New Zealand and he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business and Information Management (B.B.I.M.) double major in Accounting and IT Management.

With God always on his corner, Pauli was again awarded an Australian Leadership Award for postgraduate studies in 2010.

And a year later, he returned from Bond University in Australia with a Master of Business and Information Technology (M.B.I.T.). And also as the Recipient of the Melbourne-IT Book Prize for “Excellence in Postgraduate Studies.”

In 2014 he passed the qualification exams to become a member of the Samoa Institute of Accountants to complement his affiliations with the Institute of Public Accountants Australia as a member and the Institute of Financial Accountants United Kingdom.

He debuted in the public service as a Financial System Administrator/Accounting Officer with SamoaTel in 2005 and climbed the ladder to Manager of Product and Special Projects by 2010.

And for the last five years until his new appointment, he was appointed as Assistant Chief Executive Officer with the Development Bank of Samoa in charge for the Management Information Systems Division.

Pauli is married to Nowotta Ulberg Suhren.
