League star’s fairytale wedding

Toa Samoa star Sam Kasiano and his long time love, Leute Sandra Samau, have chosen Fiji to be the venue for their fairytale wedding.

The couple’s relatives in Samoa who travelled to Shangri La Fiji for the wedding recently have shared some of their photos with the Samoa Observer.

Sam’s wife and mother of his two children, Caleb and Carson, has roots in Falevao, Matautu-uta and Anoama’a. Her Maid of Honour was Tia Ulima Tuaoi.

Sam on the other hand hails from Fasito’o and Utuali’i. He had Toa Samoa teammate, Frank Pritchard as his Best man.

Sam is a prop for Aussie league team the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He was recently in Samoa for the historical test match between Toa Samoa and Fiji. According to Woman’s Day, Sam and Sandra attended the same Brisbane college, but Sam was always too shy to ask her out.

A few years later, however, after moving to Sydney to chase his league dream, Sam saw her profile on Facebook and sent her a message.

“I don’t know what made me do it,” he laughs. “I just thought I’d try my luck!”

“And I didn’t reply for ages,” says Sandra guiltily. “I didn’t really remember who he was! But I thought I’d meet him for a drink.”

After treating Sandra to a movie and McDonald’s, somehow Sam landed his prize – and the adorable pair have been together ever since.

“She is the absolute best,” he told Woman’s Day. “She has my back all the time and gives me so much confidence. I do her head in all the time and she still looks after me! She’s just my girl.”
