Kit Dillon and Jayde Leota are the fittest pair at CrossFit FatuToa gym Vaitele.

The duo claimed the title by conquering FatuToa’s inaugural grueling Army of Two competition held last Saturday.

The competition saw teams of male and female tackle different workouts designed to test their strength, stamina, fitness and most importantly teamwork.

Ten teams entered the competition.

But deciding the winner came down to the last of four events. 

It involved burbees jumps, deadlifts and running.

Dillon and Leota’s all round fitness, stamina and running prowess allowed them to leapfrog two other teams for the title. But they had to pull out all the stops in the last event.

At the end of the third event, the teams of Romulus Leung Wai and Natasha Keil and Keni and Kolisi Viki were tied for the lead, with Dillon and Leota closely tailing them. 

The first event involved the heaviest squat for three reps and the heaviest snatch. This was followed by a test of double unders, wall balls and power cleans.

The third event known in Crossfit circles as Fran was a test of thrusters and pull-ups. All events had strict rules, which were monitored by qualified judges and gym instructors.

To highlight how close the competition was, the top three teams were separated by a single point. In the end, Dillon and Leota prevailed.

“You are all amazing athletes and your courage and determination throughout the competition truly inspired us.
