GRADUATION JOY: Graduates and their proud relatives celebrate the end of one journey and the beginning of another.

Families, friends and supporters of students at the National University of Samoa’s (N.U.S.) Foundation class gathered at Le Papaigalagala to celebrate sweet success earlier this week.

Tears of joy and gladness were aplenty as parents and students shared the elation of completing another part of their education journey.

What begins next is life at tertiary level, with many of the graduates blessed with government scholarships to study in Fiji, New Zealand and Australia.

The majority of them will continue at the National University of Samoa.

The top student was Vensel Julian Rapi Margraff, a former Head Boy at Robert Louis Stevenson School.

The 17-year-old from Ululoloa and Si’usega is the eldest of Fa’amatuainu Dennis and Saliloimanatu Margraff’s two children.

“With my achievement today I would dedicate it to both my grandmothers, Sera Margraff and Sina Tavita,” he said. “They have been a big inspiration in terms of not only in school, but also their silent prayers. All the things that they have done for me I recognize that and it has been my biggest motivation.”

Proud father, Fa’amatuainu said this is only the beginning of Vensel’s journey. He acknowledge the blessings from God and the support of all their relatives and families.

Fa’amatuainu said he has always taught his son to be humble and rely on God for strength and wisdom.
