Faleata College Head Girl, Rachael Uisa, brought smiles and happiness to her parents yesterday when she was announced the Dux of the school.

The Pesega College Hall was packed with families and friends who came to witness the special event to honour the students’ dedication throughout the year.

Rachael Uisa is the youngest of three siblings.

Her parents, Ronald Ulisa and Liliu Uisa, dedicate their lives in serving God at the Assemblies of God church at Falelauniu.

The 17-year-old, in joy, praised and gave thanks to God for everything He had done for her.

Rachael topped her level in English, Christian Education, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Studies.

“Come next year, I will be attending the foundation at the National University of Samoa; I want to get a scholarship and further my studies overseas,” she said.

“I love science and one day I want to become a doctor.

“I also want to say thank my dear parents for supporting me in every way. My mother’s encouragement for me to do my studies every day has been paid off.

“It was a tough journey for me but I have never backed down from working hard,” Rachael added.

Second to Dux was Soonalote Pati Tiave and in third place was Jennifer Lafo.
