Savai’i cleans out Western Union prizes

White Sunday may be over but for six lucky winners, their celebration is still not over.

The six winners from Western Unions (W.U.) White Sunday promotion, the Talofa Draw were presented their winnings yesterday at the W.U. office in Apia.

Five winners from Savaii and one from Upolu showed much excitement when receiving their prizes.

Semeatu Soli from Iva, Savaii walked away with the first prize in the form of $3,000.

“Today is the actual presentation for the six winners of the White Sunday promotion,” said W.U’s Deputy General Manager, Mulipola Anarosa Molio’o.

“This promotion has been running for the last five weeks and we feel that White Sunday is a special season for Western Union and the management.”

“Throughout the year it is always Mothers day, Fathers day and Christmas day has been the most important time for us where most of the overseas residence sends money to the receivers here in Samoa.”

“With the remittances playing an important economic development here in Samoa; we do see that remittances are the way of serving (Tautua) for our people here in Samoa.”

Mulipola said that being able to give to these families is a blessing for W.U. “We have six winners we got from a live draw we did earlier this week. We drew five from Savaii and one from Upolu,” she said.

“This is one way Western Union rewards their customers so congratulations to the winners. When I called the winner of the $3,000 he was so shocked.”

“He didn’t expect to get this much money from the $200 her received from his brother so it feels very good to reward our customers.” 

The Lucky Winners:

• 1ST Prize: Semeatu Soli from Iva, Savaii - $3,000

• 2ND Prize: Christina Aiono from Faleasiu - $500

• 3rd Prize: Uili Paulo from Puleia, Savaii - $300

• 4th Prize: Pesamino Faasavala from Gataivai, Palauli - $200

• 5th Prize: Iuni Naila from Iva, Savaii - $200

• 6th Prize: Asia Manila from Faala, Palauli - $200
