The Samoa In Country Programme in collaboration with SUNGO conducted a course on Training Design and Environment for Community Trainers.
The course was designed to enable knowledge and skills required of a trainer to undertake variety of activities associated with the process of training communities.
Trainer Tauvaga Vaai highlighted that this course is a fundamental and crucial element in the process of training of any type.
The training focused on training need analysis, program design, evaluation and administration & promotion of training.
Feedback from some of the participants showed that the training was very useful as it refreshed and expanded their skills as community trainers particularly in the area of designing projects and utilising several cultural factors and other professional skills individually.
Participants of the course involved 11 non-governmental organisations and community based organisations, one member from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and two from the private sector.
Training was held at SUNGO conference room, Vaitele-tai commencing Monday 8 and officially closed Friday 12 August 2016 with presentation of Certificates to the participants.
