Water is not free

Re: Key to prosperity

Water is free if you want to collect it from the sky, but if you want the convenience of turning a tap connected to the S.W.A infrastructure, you should pay for it, both the water and infrastructure.

Just because electricity can be dragged out of the sunshine with all the new solar farms or from the rivers with the hydro, doesn’t mean it should be free either, as like everything it costs a lot of money to get the first output and to keep it going.

Next thing we will be taxing people with big noses for taking more air!

The I.M.F, World Bank, etc. are not the threats to Samoan land like in other places like Africa, where land full of natural resources are traded for loan forgiveness at pennies in the dollar.

The threat in Samoa is the Chinese EXIMBANK loans, where our inability to pay will be traded for fishing rights, government land, special immigration and tax arrangements for Chinese businesses, all to the detriment of the Samoan population trying to eek out a living.
