School pauses to remember

It wasn’t just churches and villages who stopped to offer thanksgiving for what Jesus Christ has done for the world.

At Leulumoega Fou College, the Year 9 level ended the term with an Easter Programme where the students performed skits and dances in front of their fellow students, parents and teachers.

Teacher Herema Tiatia Pouono said the event was an annual programme.

The theme for this year’s programme was “Jesus Suffered and died for us.”

“This programme falls under our Religious Knowledge subject and we also have a special day for this subject where we put into action what we have learned,” she said.

“It is a one day programme and we invited parents and relatives of each of the students to come and watch as their children perform and remember the suffering of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

“So the whole purpose of this programme is celebrating Easter, but it is also a time for us to think deep about how God loved us so much that He gave His only son to die for us so that we can live.”
