Not very wise

Dear Editor

Re: Landing fees waiver

A clear case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Instead of the Airline paying to use the Airport, transfer the loss to the S.A.A. and set a dangerous precedent for other (Chinese) airlines being enticed to stop here.

The new airline didn’t open up any new routes, just took those that Virgin had successfully developed over many years and quickly turned them into underperforming routes that already need support.

What happens if we lose the 6 Auckland and 2 Sydney weekly flights during 2018?

Prices will skyrocket, the remaining Air NZ and Virgin flights will be full and the long suffering Samoan tourist industry will cop another big kick in the bum, right when they need a big win.

The operators currently unable to meet their loan repayments will fold and some more may follow.

I hope things turn around for our national carrier and the stories of 30 passengers are replaces with stories of people not being able to get a seat.

H.K.
