Fiame gets backing as Deputy P.M.

By the end of the week, the country will know who the Deputy Prime Minister is. But as the countdown continues, Vatapuia Maiava asked people in today’s Street Talk who they think is the most appropriate candidate. This is what they said:

Lepoi Falevanu
Satapuala

I think that Fiame Naomi should be the Deputy Prime Minister. She represents us women and females should have more power to make real changes in the government. There is a different type of strength that only women possess and it’s that kind of strength that is needed at the right hand of the Prime Minister.

I think Fiame should be the Deputy Prime Minister. She is one of the veteran politicians and she has been around for a very long time. She has many years of service under her belt and with that comes experience. I believe she was there before Fonotoe so there should be a change now. She is ready for the position.

Eti Isaia
Vaisigano

Fiame Naomi is my pick for the position because she has been on the political stage for a long time now. It would be nice to have a female as the Deputy Prime Minister to encourage other women in Parliament. It would be a nice change of perspective to have a female second in charge to Tuilaepa.

Eoaese Asiata
Taufusi

Fiame Naomi should be the new Deputy Prime Minister. She is the Deputy head of H.R.P.P so it only makes sense for her to become the Deputy P.M. Fiame has been in Parliament for some time now and I, along with many others I know, believe that she is more than qualified to become the Deputy P.M.

Saupoi Sauila
Saleimoa

I think Fonotoe should still be the Deputy Prime Minister. He has a lot of experience in that position since he was the last Deputy P.M. I think he has done a good job as the Deputy P.M. so far and I don’t see any reason to change it. But it’s all up to our Prime Minister.

Rosa Isaia
Sogi

Fiame Naomi should be the new Deputy P.M. To my understanding she has been on the political stage since she was 27 years old which means she is more than ready for that position. She is well respected, she is mature and she is a good role model for all the youths in the country. It’s time for a change and the P.M. should hurry up and appoint her as his right hand.
