Laureen Lee Vaai, Rimani Samoa’s fashion house brainchild is not regretting her move some ten years ago, to get out of her comfort zone by launching her own promotional campaign capitalising on the social media to showcase her unique Samoan designs to the global market

Today, her clientele spreads from the Pacific region including Australia and New Zealand to lucrative markets in Hawaii, the United States and even Europe.

And the majority of her overseas clients are Samoans living abroad.

“Fashion shows without a doubt attract people to a destination and this is one of the main drives for designers to aspire to showcase their talents prominently locally and internationally,” said Lee-Vaai now celebrating the first 10 years of Rimani Samoa.

And she applauds the recognition afforded to her by the Samoa Events Incorporated, (SEI) as one of the five local fashion houses that will provide attires for the reigning Miss Samoa Priscilla Finally Olano to showcase during the week long Miss Pacific Islands Contest in Apia next week.

“It’s more than a privilege,” she added.

“Rimani Samoa has been an ardent Miss Samoa Pageant supporter in the last four years and we have never been publicly recognised not that we needed the recognition.  But it helps with staff morale which is good for business.

“But most importantly, to be on the regional stage is double fold.

“It’s the ideal promotion platform to showcase calibre of Samoa’s fashion designers which is authentically Samoa traditional wear.

“This is not to mention a perfect profiling opportunity of our country to the global tourism industry.
