We all have our own calling

Each and every person is unique. We all have our calling.

That is the opinion of Alofa Kose, of Salua Manono and Leulumoega.

“Don’t compare yourself to another, just as every human being is different, our lives will also be different,” he said.

The 21-year-old moved from Manono to work for the church minister of Taulogologo Christian Fellowship, a year ago.

“I currently work and stay at the church minister’s place,” he told the Village Voice.

“I help him and his family with whatever they need help with.”

In fact, the young man was on duty yesterday cutting the grass and cleaning up one of the church minister’s fields when the Village Voice caught up with him.

“For me, there’s nothing really different here from home. It all seems the same to me.”

Alofa is the third child among five siblings and all of them are gainfully employed.

“My family inspired me to find a job.

“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and honestly, I’m a very spiritual person, which is another reason why I chose to work for the church.

“Not only do I want to make a change, I also want to work on developing my spiritual life more and stay spiritual forever.

“I mean, I see more and more of our youth lacking in that part and I’m not saying that to be judgmental, but my point is, anyone can do wrong at any time, without even realising it.

“And I know that where I am now, it is the best place to make a good start.

“A good start will lead to a good ending, right?”

Alofa concluded, “God has a different calling for each and every one of us.

“So, I guess I just want to say to the youth of today: we can always invite God in to our hearts if we are ready to make a change within ourselves.”
