Norah Li’o Setu Aloiai is the new Miss Samoa Victoria Incorporated
She was crowned during the ‘The Miss Samoa Victoria Incorporated Pageant 2018 with the theme Faiva o alofi lima o tamaitai – The artistries of women last Saturday at the Williamstown Town Hall.
Ms. Aloai, who has roots in Sapapali’i, Fogapoa, Taga and Vailoa i Palauli, overcame the strong challenge from five other contestants.
Ms. Aloai is a 19-year-old student, based in Doveton (Victoria) and is an active member of the Melbourne community.
She grew up in Samoa and migrated with her family to Australia when she was young. She embraces her Samoan heritage and the Fa’asamoa way of life as well as being active in the opportunities and experiences of Australia.
“Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever” 1 Chronicles 16:34,” she said.
“From the bottom of my heart, I would like to give sincere thanks to my family, for your loving, dedication and support.”
In her pre-pageant Interview, Ms. Aloai noted that she has faced a lot of criticism in school for sharing her Christian beliefs and being a devout Christian, but understands that in order to bring peace and understanding between people, she has found a way to accept and embrace all people, culture and religions by sharing her own and bringing understanding of Samoan culture to those that are unaware.
