Australia  vs. New Zealand

The annual ANZAC Day Cricket test between Australia & New Zealand was held this year on Friday 29th April 2016 at the Garden Oval, Tuanaimato. Proceeding the game formalities were given by the Australia & New Zealand High Commissioners to commemorate the 101st year of the landing at Gallipoli. This game is now an official event on the Samoa Cricket calendar and has been played each year since 2003.

The match was played in tremendous ANZAC spirit and this year the Australian team prevailed chasing down a respectable 142 made by the New Zealander’s facing some very tight bowling. The ANZAC ANZ Cup was presented to the Australian captain Mal Parsons and the player of the day trophy was awarded to Tari Seru of the Australian team who contributed in the field and with bat & ball.

Samoa Cricket wishes to thank the many sponsors who contributed to the annual ANZAC Day cricket activities. Fundraising from the event will go to the Samoa Cricket for two main upcoming tournaments being the Ladies Tri-series in the 50 overs World Qualifiers and the Seniors Over 60s Championship.
