Another police car smashed
The driver of the police vehicle involved in a car accident last Friday at Faleasiu has been charged with dangerous driving and being under the influence of alcohol.
This was confirmed by the Media Officer of the Ministry of Police, Maotaoalii Kaioneta Kitiona yesterday.
He said the driver was an unsworn officer and the vehicle was only used to run errands for the Police.
But a source told the Samoa Observer that the driver does not actually work for the Ministry of Police.
The source said he only works for the Minister of Police’s office.
Asked what Police vehicle was doing out at that time of the night, Maotaoalii said he was unsure.
He confirmed however that the incident involved another vehicle.
The driver is set to appear before the Court on 3 May 2016.
