Love means hard work.

And when it comes to the future of our children, there is no room for error.

For Su’a Kolio Fatu from the village of Manino Siumu, everything he does is geared towards the future of his children.

The 64-year-old father of four caught up with the Village Voice yesterday while working at his plantation.

He believes that without hard work, there will be no success.

“We should be always reminded that the children are the future,” he told the Village Voice.

“Life is too hard to face but knowing that our children are our first priority, we should work extra hard.”

Su’a says that with life moving forward very fast, investing in the children should be the priority.

“You can’t just sit around and expect your children to have a nice future just like that. You need to try build up your own children on the right path.”

With the children being the future of Samoa, Kolio reminds the parents children must always become the priority.

“This is exactly why I work hard.”

“I work six days a week at my plantation and I tell you it’s not easy and it’s never easy.”

“I even stay here by myself because I have to make sure we have crops to sell for our money.”

“The money we earn from the plantation is for schools fees, lunch money for the kids, food for our everyday lives.”

“Sometimes we also sell vegetables such as tomatoes and cabbages.”

Su’a said the only thing he struggles with is water.

“The only problem here is having no access to water.”

“You see, I spend most of the time fetching water from opposite side of the road. If only I have a water tank that would be very helpful.”

“Water is very useful to grow crops, and to be honest it is very hard to fetch water.”

If you can help Su’a with his water problems, he can be contacted on 773655.
