The National Bank of Samoa (NBS) has taken another bold move in its drive for digital transformation of its banking business. The Bank has invested in the latest Oracle Internet Banking application (OBDX) – the first bank to do so in the South Pacific.

The investment made over the last three months will cumulate in the new Internet Banking platform being available to customers from Friday 15th February.

“It’ll be great for our customers – the latest software makes internet banking so much more easy to do now,” said NBS Chief Executive Officer, Tu'u'u Amaramo Sialaoa.

“Internet Banking upgrade is one of several new digital banking channels being introduced that nbs hopes will underpin its mission to get greater use of digital banking technologies by our people.”

The upgrade comes close behind the launch of EziBank through which customers can check account balances, make a deposit or withdraw money using their mobile phones 24/7.

The new Internet Banking platform will be followed shortly by a new app allowing customers to access NBS Internet Banking via their smart phones.

NBS Chairman, Va’atu’itu'i Apete Meredith, went on to comment that “NBS is leveraging digital financial technology to deliver banking services for its customers more conveniently, yet affordable and wants NBS to take the lead in digital transformation of banking services for Samoa."

For more information about the new Internet Banking site customers should contact NBS or logon via the nbs website.
