A mother of five is seeking employment for her husband.

Vi’i To’o from Fasito’o was visiting her family in Satapuala when the Village Voice team arrived at their residence.

“We don’t need much to get by, we have water and electricity and that is why it’s vital for my husband, To’o Niko, to get a job,” she said.

“He’s a good chef; a carpenter and is a handy man.”

According to Mrs. To’o, her husband also worked at stocking goods inside supermarket stores and is literally good at almost anything.

“We have five children and my husband desperately needs a job to pay for school tuitions, pay bills and also assist with family obligations.

“Everything is expensive now days and so without a steady job, it’s difficult to get by,” she said.

Mrs. To’o says her children accept whatever is given to them and they don’t complain.

“One of the things I am thankful for is that my children do not really beg for things they know we cannot afford.”

The mother pleaded for a Good Samaritan to give her husband a job.

“I know my husband’s capabilities and I wouldn’t have asked on his behalf if I didn’t know he is good.”

The mother also shared her experience of Tropical Cyclone Gita.

“We have been through worse; I know if it wasn’t for the flooding, it wouldn’t be as bad as it looks compared to Tonga and American Samoa.

“As you can see around our house, not really any damage other than the fallen bananas and trees, but I think we are lucky this time around,” she said.

The mother said having her children all under one roof with faith in the man above is what kept them warm throughout the cold and windy night.

She was also thankful that no lives were lost to the cyclone, although families did lose their homes.

“There was a delay with the water and electricity reconnection, but that was not really an issue for me. I was more concerned about the families who lost their homes and I hope the government assists them in some way.

“My heart goes out to those families, of course I know water and electricity is a need, but in times like this, always be thankful first and foremost that your family is all accounted for and that you have a roof over your head,” said Mrs. To’o.

If anyone wants to offer Vi’i’s husband a job, you can reach her on 751 0424.
