Two people were arrested during a Police raid at a local hotel last week.

This was confirmed by the Media Officer for the Ministry of Police, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu, yesterday.

Su’a said the two accused have been charged with possession of utensils used in the consumption of ice.

But he said there was no methamphetamine found at the scene.

The two accused will appear before the Supreme Court on 15 February 2016 and are likely to face additional charges.

In a separate incident, Su’a confirmed that one police officer has been suspended due to a criminal charge against him.

Su’a declined to give details about what had happen.

He said only the Police Commissioner, Fuiavailili Egon Keil, could elaborate on the matter.

According to a source, the incident involved a drunk woman who was presented to the Police station because she did not pay her taxi fare.

It is alleged that the police officer suspended took advantage of her while she was intoxicated.
