Students at Martin Hautus Institute of Learning Samoa (M.H.I.L.S.) celebrated sweet success with their families and friends last week.

Twenty seven students were awarded with Samoa Certificates in Tourism Level Two.

M.H.I.L.S. Founder, Pulotu Arthur Solomon, says the institute not only offers students qualifications, but an opportunity to find employment as well.

“Martin Hautus Institute of Learning Samoa is registered with Samoa Qualifications Authority (S.Q.A.) and the qualifications students will be graduating with, are accredited by S.Q.A,” Pulotu said.

“Therefore, this cohort of students is the first to graduate with an S.Q.A. certificate and we have very successful results in getting students to qualify and gain jobs mainly in the tourism industry.

“The school roll for 2014 (12), 2015 (97-46), 2016 (72-35), 2017 (51-26). People who made the commitment to enrol with Martin Hautus Institute and complete their course of studies, have been placed into employment or further studies.

“Therefore, we believe that you as parents are making a good investment when you send your child to study at Martin Hautus Institute.

“Next year will be an exciting year with A.I.S. working with us to deliver our Diploma in Tourism and Travel early 2018, followed by Diploma in Hospitality Management in mid-2018. Students will then have a choice to study for a degree in New Zealand.

“We had a very good promotion at all the secondary schools in Upolu.”

Martin Hautus will also open their new campus in Apia next year, Lotemau Centre and Malololelei will continue as a campus for the Hospitality programmes.

The Institute will work in partnership with the employers of Samoa to provide relevant and required skills for the students to better transition to the workplaces.
