What’s happening today

Dear Editor

Re: Samoa’s graduation from L.D.C

Samoa has a debt (money owing to overseas World Banks) of $2billion.

So how is the current government whom created this problem going to pay back all that money owed?

Does the P.M. and H.R.P.P have an answer?

The government at the moment is struggling to pay the “interest” only on the $2billion loan.

Is the P.M. waiting for a miracle of money falling from the sky to pay the rest of the loan?

Why do we have to put up with the so many failed government projects littered all over Samoa?

Samoa in the past lived frugally and simply and never beyond its means.

The Old and Wiser Samoa always lived within the boundaries of nature and within the knowledge of other Samoans in each village. Every Samoan of old lived within this boundary and limit - there was no extreme wealth or extreme borrowing.

Most Samoans in Modern Samoa are now living under this foreign palagi government system and currency (money) system imported from overseas and most if not all Samoans have no idea how this whole darn thing works.

I challenge you PS Jeffery to go live with a family in any village that is struggling to survive in Modern Samoa for a week or more then come back and share your experiences on how they live and survive day to day.
