Have some passion

Think a minute…A woman who had been married 20 years was missing the passion in her marriage, so she asked her husband why he did not tell her that he loved her more often. He replied: “I told you on our wedding day that I love you. If I change my mind, I’ll let you know!”

Years ago the rich and famous movie star Grace Kelly sacrificed it all and left her home in America to live the rest of her life in a different country—all for the love of a man.

King Edward of England gave up his throne and kingdom for the woman he loved. Listen to these words from his speech that was broadcast around the world: “You all know the reasons which have driven me to renounce my throne…But you must believe me when I tell you that I have found it impossible to carry the heavy responsibility as king without the help and support of the woman I love.”

The movie, The Passion of the Christ, had a powerful impact on people as it brought to life the historical facts of Jesus’ brutal death and His resurrection that is one-of-a-kind in all of history.

Gibson’s film was the first time millions actually understood and saw an accurate picture and portrayal of the unjust trial, suffering and torture Jesus experienced and endured when he was executed as the worst of criminals.

Crucifixion was designed by the Romans to be both the most shameful, humiliating and painful death a human being could suffer. Jesus was not even given the dignity of clothing. He was stripped completely naked on the cross.

So why did God allow Himself to be mocked and murdered like that? Only one reason: He passionately loves you and me. He knew it was the only way that the full penalty for all our wrong hearts and living could be paid with complete justice.

It was the only way our perfectly pure Creator could be reunited with us rebellious, sinful creatures to share His abundant, everlasting life with us. That is real love! That is passion in action.

There is nothing more God can possibly do to prove to us how much He loves us! And all He wants is for us to love Him in return by living each day with Him.

So once and for all, won’t you ask Jesus to forgive you for your all of your sins and living your own way? If you surrender every area of your heart to Him, you can start passionately living His way and enjoying your new life with Him to the fullest—just as He planned for you from the beginning.

Just think a minute…
