An absurd injustice

Dear Editor,

Your story in the Sunday Samoan titled “No poverty in Samoa” is a perfect example of the huge gap between the haves and the have nots in Samoan society. This family works hard so there is no excuse for the government to ignore their poverty.

Why on earth do they have financial obligations to the church?

It should be against the law for the church to accept money from people in this kind of hardship. The church should have financial obligations to this family.

This is an absurd injustice.
