WELCOME TO SAMOA: Meeting with Vaosa Epa, one of the Commissioners at the Public Service Commision

Two more Japanese volunteers have arrived to serve in Samoa for the next two years, primarily through Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (J.I.C.A) Volunteer scheme.

From 1972 an overall amount of 608 volunteers so far, have since been dispatched to Samoa.  Working in various fields within Samoa’s many government and non-government organisations.

The newly arrived placements are a Soccer Coach with the Football Federation of Samoa (F.F.S), as well as a Computer Technician with the Meteorology Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (M.N.R.E).

Both volunteers have expressed their eagerness to start working, to help contribute to their respective organisations and to work closely with their local counterparts.

Before settling into their new environment, they will undergo further in-country orientation training for the next month, before commencing duties with their respective host organisations.

Last week, they met with some government officials during their courtesy visits.
