Four pastors of the Seventh Day Adventist were ordained during a special ceremony on Sunday.

Members of the church, their families and friends celebrated the occasion with a special service on Sunday.

The ordination of the pastors means they can now administer marriages, funerals and Holy Communion. The occasion brought tears of joy for the church’s members at Lalovaea.

The pastors have already served the church for many years but this was another step.

Ministerial Director for the Transpacific Union, Dr. Ronald Stone, encouraged them to be strong.

“You will encounter a lot of problems in the ministry but be strong and you will be able to make it,” said Dr. Stone.

“Live above your credits; don’t give the people reasons to talk about you. Preach the word according to what the Bible says and do the work of an evangelist pastor. Always remember that the people are hungry for a strong message.”

For the graduates, the ordination was the culmination of years of hard work.

Pastor Lisale Sonny Pesa acknowledged God’s faithfulness and his family’s support.

“I never thought I would become a pastor but I thank God that He is able to use me,” he said. “I also thank my family for their support and their prayers that I have been able to be make it this far.

“It wasn’t an easy road but I thank God for all the wonderful things He had done for my life.”
