After years of struggling to get a job, Maniniosomoi Ape Solia, 25, of Fasitoo-uta, has finally received great news.

The young mother ‘who was desperate for a job’ when she appeared in the Village Voice last Friday, is today, a grateful woman.

When we first met her, she highlighted her struggle in trying to make a living for her family, especially for her son.

Among this struggle was finding a job.

Yesterday, the Samoa Observer received a call from the young mother who was overwhelmed with joy.

She shared the good news that she had received a job.

Leilani Moe’ono, a lawyer from Tiapapata, read the story and offered her a job as a babysitter.

“First and foremost, all thanks and glory should go back to our heavenly father for his blessings upon us, I thank him for his many ways of showing us that he will never leave our side,” she said.

“Thank you to Mrs Leilani Mo’eono for her considerate concern in offering this job for me. It’s a rare opportunity and there are not enough words to describe how thankful I am right now. God bless you.

“I would also like to thank the Samoa Observer for your programme, the Village Voice, because it is through your writing that this kind-hearted woman has offered me a job.

“Now that I have got a job, I would not lie about what I pointed out in the paper… I will do my work with honesty and integrity, I’ll treat these children as my own, and I will help out with the family in any way I can.”

For Mrs Leilani Moe’ono, she said se was touched after reading the story.

“Recently, I had lost interest in hiring Samoan babysitters because I have had bad experiences with them in the past,” she said.

“So I was going to hire someone from Fiji to be my babysitter.”

That was until she read about Maniniosomoi’s story and decided to help her.

“Hopefully this will turn out well.”
