A new car for Father’s day.

That’s precisely what happened to Carlos Sialaoa of Vaivase yesterday when he drove home a brand new Chevy Sonic. Mr. Sialaoa was the winner of Haleck Motors Father’s Day Promotion but he has his younger sister to thank for entering his name in the draw.

Digicel customers simply had to text their name or their dad’s, which cost a $1, for a chance.

Aside from the grand price three other winners received consolation prices of $500 cash including the person who had the most entries which was Vision Afamasaga, Sanele Meletino and Fa’amanu Gene.

As for Mr. Sialaoa, he was speechless at first.

“I was really shocked when I receive the news last night,” he told the Sunday Samoan.

“I didn’t really get much sleep on Friday night because I was just looking forward to coming today to see if it’s true. This is the best Father’s Day ever and I am really blessed.”

Mr. Sialaoa said it’s a dream come true for their family.

“We don’t have a car so this is our first car,” he said. “It’s a dream come true for our little family because we don’t have a car so this is our first car."

“I’m really happy and blessed to receive this brand new car from Haleck Motors.”

But there is a funny story behind Mr. Sialaoa’s entry.

“It was actually my baby sister who put my name in for the draw,” he said laughing.

“Our father passed away a few years ago and so my baby sister was the one who kept entering my name in the draw using her number."

“So I am thankful to my baby sister for entering my name because if it wasn’t for her, our family would not have enjoyed this brand new ride."

“As for the Chevy, well, I don’t know if mom is going to gift it for me because it was my sister who entered my name or we’ll just give it for mom to drive around in it. But overall I’m just really happy and blessed.”
