One of Samoa’s best and emerging designers, Afa Ah Loo, has returned to the United States of America, taking the next step in his foray into the fashion world.

Yesterday, in a post on JAYUS by Robin Uata, Ah Loo was welcomed to Utah.

“JAYUS is introducing our newest team member today. His name is Afa Ah Loo and he is amazing,” said the post under the headline “Made in Samoa.”

“Afa is a talented fashion designer from the pacific island of Samoa. He recently moved here to the US and jumped on the JAYUS team a couple of weeks ago.

“He’s going to play such a crucial role for getting the SS-17 Collection ready for the runway. We’re like a week away and there is so much to do, but #thejayusbunch ain’t worried because Afa is here to save the day.”

The website describes Ah Loo as “such a fast learner and works super hard.

“He has been working day n’ night cutting fabric and sewing pieces together and getting everything prepared for the show! It’s amazing to see how he works and how he can turn simple fabric into exquisite fashion essentials.

“Just take a look at some of the work that he’s done in the past! Afa brings so much to the table for the JAYUS team and we’re so thankful for that!”

Ah Loo has designed some amazing collections in the past.

“He loves that JAYUS is a little different from his normal aesthetic. He brings so much creativity to the overall look and structure for the outfits in the collection. You guys will all be seeing him at the show, so keep your eyes open!

“The JAYUS team has so much to look forward to. And no...I’m not just talking about the fashion show next week. As exciting as that is, there’s some even bigger news! Afa will be tying the knot soon! We can’t wait to see him and his boo thang on their big day!”

ABOUT JAYUS

We started JAYUS because we were displeased with the fashion scene in Utah. Coming from multicultural backgrounds, shopping for clothing that fits properly can be frustrating. This paired with the lack of unique fashion styles generated the idea of starting a fashion label.

The only way to find what we desired was to make it ourselves. And so, JAYUS was born! We encourage self-expression through personal style, so it is very important to us that our brand is able to provide that for the many demographics that go unrepresented in the fashion world. We aim to create a fashion label that anyone, regardless of size or gender, can be a part of.
