His Highness the Head of State, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi greeted the Flying Fijians team management at his home, Tuaefu with the warmest of welcomes.

“Well we are keen to welcome you to my home as family,” His Highness told the visiting coach and team members yesterday morning.

“I know we have much so much in common - in history, culture because we have a common ancestry and it doesn’t matter whether you are from Fiji, Tonga, Samoa or New Zealand; we are  family.

“I can’t say to you to beat the Manu Samoa but I want you to play a good game and may the best team win.”

His Highness, Tuiatua also congratulated the Fijian team for making it to the Rugby World Cup.

“You’re doing great by getting into the World Cup, congratulations!” he said.

“I thank you for carrying the banner for all of us here in the Pacific and we wish you all the best.

“Remember, when you come to my home, you’re not just anybody, you’re my family and I wish you well in your game.”

Captain Qera thanked the Head of State, and Samoa for the great hospitality.

“We are very honoured to be invited in your home and we thank you for your very kind words,” he said.

“On behalf of the management, we are so honoured and privileged to be here this morning.

“Whenever we step in Samoa, we feel like home - the friendly smiles of your people...they are really looking after us and we are hoping for a good game.”

“Bula!”
