‘All Things Sweet’ Cake and Bar is on the move. It has officially opened at its new location at Savalalo, opposite St. Mary’s Primary School.

‘All Things Sweet’ is a home-based bakery, specializing in unique, bespoke cakes for any occasion – even when you are simply looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth.

“I’ve been baking at home for two years, so finally after two weeks...it’s a dream come true,” said owner, Jaydin Meredith.

“We are open from Monday to Sunday and we are inviting everyone to come and enjoy.”

Mrs. Meredith believes that ‘if you choose a job that you love to do, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

This is what motivates her to do what she does.

The 26-year-old hails from the villages of Alafua and Vaivase-uta.

Jaydin started her business after moving back to Samoa in 2014 when she completed studies in Australia.

For Jaydin, baking comes naturally. She started baking from when her parents opened a restaurant called Apaula Heights in 2001.

From those humble beginnings, Jaydin has grown and developed her love for baking. This was placed on hold’ when she went overseas for studies.

But back in Samoa, it didn’t take long for Jaydin to find herself again.

Jaydin said her inspiration for baking comes from her clients.

“When they order a cake, they let me know who the cake is for, and what flavours they like or dislike and also a theme or colour.”

“I’m forever looking through recipe books, and scanning through pinterest and instagram. One of my favourite instagram bakers is @katherinesabbath, she’s hilarious and so creative.”

The magic is done by Jaydin alone – with Kaleb a big helper.

“He is the best tester,” she said. “Although, I do have to give credit to my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, which is my saving grace when it comes to making Swiss meringue butter cream.”

The heat and humidity in Samoa are the only challenges she struggles with.

“Upon moving back to Samoa, after schooling in Australia I soon realized that a lot of the things I used to make in the much cooler temperatures would not work in our hot and humid weather.

“So I said good bye to chocolate shards and making sugar lollies and started making more suitable desserts and decorations.”

But Jaydin loves what she does. She welcomes you to her kitchen to enjoy the variety of her masterpieces for your satisfaction.

For your special occasions, give her a call and place your orders today.

If you have a sweet tooth, All Things Sweet is the place for you.
