The Miss Samoa Alumni came together last night to promote the power of positive thinking and positive actions at the Orator Hotel.

This was done during an evening with former Miss Samoa and Miss South Pacific, Manamea Apelu Schwalger, who has become the face of Pinktober, which promotes the value of early detection for breast cancer.

The evening was well attended.

Deputy Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, who has also become the Patron of the Miss Samoa Alumni, spoke and highlighted the importance of the advocacy work that Pinktober has done.

Manamea herself told the audience about her journey and how far she has come with her battle with cancer.

She reminded them never to lose hope and to always think of the power of positive thinking. More details later.
