Another fancy report launched

Dear Editor,

Re: Report on child vendors

It amazes me how many times I see a launch of such and such.

The government launched this and launched that and then they disappeared. Where did they go? What happened to their functions and purpose?

“The Government is fully committed to its International Obligations under the Conventions and it is bound by International Laws in fulfilling our obligations in Protecting the Rights Of Children.”

Are these children right compatible with the Samoan way of life as Christian nation as inscribed in the Constitution?

Or are we in conflict with these broad undefined children rights.

“I am the Minister responsible for Labour laws in Samoa. I will ensure that our country is protected from International ridicule, our government is Protected and most of all - OUR CHILDREN are PROTECTED.”

What do you consider international ridicule?

What is our government being protected from? And our children?

Very interested in knowing.
