Bulldogs maul the Saints

Letava Bulldogs reigned supreme in the first ever Marist International Sports Week’s Rugby League 9’s Tournament.

Saturday afternoon at A.C.P. Stadium Lotopa, saw the greatest rugby league showdown in the final match against Letava Bulldogs and the host team, Marist Saints.

The Bulldogs defeated the Saints with a final score of 14-4. 

The team walked away with the prize money of $1,500, medals for all and the coveted Cup.

The Bulldogs have even more to celebrate as the Marist Committee selected Bulldog, Lataupa’a Okesene as the Most Valuable Player for the tournament.  

According, to the Head Coach of the Letava Bulldogs, Tuna Tovio, Okesene is a playmaker on the pitch and an instrumental figure in the team.  

Tovio was absolutely beaming with pride as he shared his team’s accomplishments. 

“I’m really proud of my team. They did an amazing job the whole entire day, dominating the semi-finals against the Apia Barracudas and then in this last final.”

“I want to thank the Committee for hosting this tournament and I would also like to acknowledge our fans for their support. “

1st Letava Bulldogs

2nd Marist Saints 

3rd Apia Barracudas.
