Wednesday was a day of celebration for members of the Methodist Church at Salani Falealili.

It was the day when the church under the leadership of Reverend Tupea Seumanu and his wife Efo Seumanu opened their $583,000 church building.

The Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and his Masiofo, Her Highness Filifilia Tamasese were among the guests.

The service was conducted by the President of the Methodist Church, Reverend Apineru Lafai.

The new structure is the fourth church building for the Methodist church since it was established at Salani in 1847.

Seti Apineru Lafai was given the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially open the project. The leading carpenter for the work was Fuimaono Filemoni Atanoa.
