WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand police say British and Irish Lions prop Kyle Sinckler was arrested for "minor disorder" hours after Saturday's third rugby test against the All Blacks in Auckland but was released without charge.

In a statement Tuesday, the police said "a male was placed under arrest but was not charged after further inquiries established that the incident did not warrant prosecution."

New Zealand media reports said the incident involving Sinckler happened around 3 a.m. Sunday in central Auckland and the 24-year-old rugby forward was escorted by police officers to the Lions' hotel. The series was tied after the Lions rebounded from a heavy opening loss to win the second test and land a late penalty goal to secure a 15-15 draw in the third.

The Lions, comprising players from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England, tour every four years to either New Zealand, Australia or South Africa.

Police said they would make no further comment.
