Prime Minister off to Europe

Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, is in Europe.

He is there to attend two meetings from 12 – 16 June 2016. 

The 3rd Annual Stockholm Food Forum 2016 in Sweden is scheduled on 12 – 14 June with the second meeting in Brussels for the tenth edition of the European Development Days on 15 – 16 June. 

The first meeting in Sweden is a global initiative to link food, health and sustainability across science, business and politics and is held annually in Stockholm. 

The overall objective of the meeting is to expand the interdisciplinary scientific knowledge platform on the interconnection between food, health, environmental sustainability as well as strategies to induce behavioral change at a population level towards healthier and more sustainable food. 

Prime Minister Tuilaepa will deliver the keynote address, which reflects Samoa’s status in addressing food security.

The next meeting in Brussels is the Tenth Edition of the European Development Days, which is Europe’s leading forum on international cooperation and development. 

This will be one of the first major international events to address the way forward for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Prime Minister Tuilaepa will deliver an address on the way forward for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SAMOA Pathway.

The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peseta Noumea Simi is accompanying the Prime Minister.
