Slippery roads blamed for crash

The slippery conditions yesterday caused by heavy rain have been blamed for a bus crash at Tanumapua.

Although no one was injured, the accident could have easily been fatal.

The bus was coming from Lefaga heading to town when the vehicle slithered and crashed into a ditch.

When the Weekend Observer arrived at the scene, an eyewitness who wants to stay anonymous said he is grateful that no one was hurt.

“The driver tried to control the bus from sliding because the road was very slippery and as you can see the road is very narrow,” he said.

“It could’ve been worse, but thank God the driver and the passengers were all okay.”

The Police are investigating.
