Brother charged for assaulting younger brother

A 31-year-old male of Falefa has been admitted at Motootua Hospital after he was stabbed on the head by his older brother. 

This was confirmed by the media officer of the Ministry of Police, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu.

According to Su’a, the victim was accused by his older brother of taking his wallet. 

The accused got angry at the victim and stabbed him on the head.

The incident occurred at Falefa, on Saturday 5th March 2016 around 5:30pm. 

The accused was arrested on the 6th March 2016 for questioning and he was charged with actual bodily harm.

Su’a said police are investigating this matter and they are waiting for a report from the hospital.

The 44-year-old defendant is still under police custody and will appear in the Supreme Court on the 21st March 2016 for mention.
