The position of Commissioner of the Electoral Office will be advertised after the General Elections in March.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Public Enterprises, Lautafi Fio Purcell.
“As of now, Faimalo Mathew Lemisio is the Acting Commissioner,” said Lautafi.
“He will continue until we finish with the General Elections.”
Lautafi said Faimalo and his team have done a lot of work to prepare the country for the elections and it is only appropriate that the position is dealt with after the elections.
“It’s kind of difficult during this time to advertise the position while the country is getting ready for the election,” he said.
Faimalo Mathew took over the role after Cabinet ended the services of former Commissioner, Papali’i Malietau Malietoa in July, last year.
